<p>PURPOSE:To provide a packet transmission system in which a critical delay time of a packet is reduced without deteriorating a packet transmission efficiency. CONSTITUTION:A priority flag check section 2 checks the presence of a priority flag of a secondary header in a packet from a buffer 1 to provide an output of a check result. Upon the receipt of a priority flag detection signal and the detection of expiration of time based on a reference time signal from a time generating section 4, a release timing generating section 3 generates a release timing signal. A multiplexer section 6 multiplexes a packet from the buffer 1 received via a priority flag check section 2 and adds a header of a fixed length to generate a frame of a fixed length. Furthermore, when the release timing signal is received for the multiplexing, the multiplexer section 6 generates a frame of a fixed length in which a fill packet is filled in an idle area of a data field and provides an output of the frame.</p> |
