MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE AND FLEXIBLE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD USED FOR THE SAME

PURPOSE:To miniaturize a magentic disk and to reduce mutual interference of noise between wiring systems of read/write head and servo head by forming a read/write IC on an FPC board fixed to the side surface of head arm and forming a servo IC on the other side surface. CONSTITUTION:A head arm assembly 4 of an actuator 3 consists of an arm base 12 projecting from a supporting main body 11 and a spring arm 10 connected to the arm base 12. Two pieces each of the spring arms 10 are connected to every arm base 12. The read/write head 8 is fixed to the tip of the arm 10. A movable part 22a of a first FPC board 22 is fixed to the side surface of the head arm 4, and the read/write ICs 18a-18c are formed on the FPC board 13, and a signal line 14 from the read/write head 8 is connected through a pad 16. The servo IC 20 is provided connecting to a servo pad 17 of a side opposite to the pad 16, and the signal line 15 from a servo head 9 is connected.
