PURPOSE:To shorten braking distance without increasing braking force and prevent a engine stall when a vehicle restarts by providing a continuously variable transmission with a means which performs each up and down shift, etc., in accordance with each signal for increasing and decreasing pressure which is output from an ABS. CONSTITUTION:An ABS (anti-skid brake device) operation signal S and a car speed signal V are output from a control unit (c/u) 400 of the ABS to a control unit (c/u) 402 of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) 406. Also, a brake signal B is input in the CVT.c/u 402 from a brake switch 404. Furthermore, a speed change command signal U is output from the CVT.c/u 402 to the CVT 406. When wheel speed is equal to or above the minimum wheel speed and equal to or below a threshold on the lower limit side of wheel speed, up shift is done by the continuously variable transmission CVT. On the other hand, when wheel speed is equal to or above a threshold on the upper limit side, down shift is done by the continuously variable transmission CVT. |
