PURPOSE:To stabilize the output of a fuel cell using hydrogen gas as fuel gas. CONSTITUTION:Air which is oxygen-containing gas is supplied to a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell(PEFC) 12 from an oxygen gas supply passage, and hydrogen gas obtained by steam reforming of methanol is supplied to the PEFC from a hydrogen gas supply passage 16. A buffer tank 18 which adjusts the steam content in the hydrogen gas and a methanol reformer 20 are placed in the piping line of the hydrogen gas supply passage 16. The buffer tank 18 is constituted so as to be capable of controlling the inside temperature of the tank by rate of flow of a coolant passing through a coolant passage of the tank. By controlling the inside temperature of the buffer tank 18, the steam content in the gas is adjusted by adjusting the hydrogen gas temperature, and hydrogen gas whose steam content was adjusted is supplied to the PEFC 12. |
