PURPOSE:To improve the light fastness of an image and eliminate the occurrence of fog at high temp. by forming a thermal recording material by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a coupaler represented by a specific chemical formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is formed by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a compd. represented by formula I (wherein R1-R2 are a hydrogen atom or a 1-5C alkyl group and n is an integer of 6-14) on a support. Further, an intermediate layer extremely enhanced in heat insulating properties and enhancing the close adhesion with a thermal head is provided on the support and a thermal color forming layer containing the compd. represented by the formula I and a phenol compd. represented by the formula II is laminated to the intermediate layer to form a thermal recording material. As a pref. example of the coupler represented by the formula I, there is 2,4'-diphenolsulfone or 2,2'-diallyl-4,4'-diphenolsulfone. |
