PURPOSE: To automatically change the display of menu options which a user can select in a data processing system. CONSTITUTION: Counters are made to relate to every of menu options 26-44 which the user can select for automatically changing the display of the multiple menu options 26-44 which the user can select. The counters which are associated with the menu options 26-44 which the user can select are advanced in response to the menu options 26-44 whenever the user selects it. The display of the options 26-44 is automatically changed in response to the state of the associated counters.
