PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material excellent in the preservability and image reliability by adding N-substituted indole, an aromatic polyvalent hydroxy compd., a carbonyl compd. and an acidic substance to develop a color by heating. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material containing N-substituted indole, an aromatic polyvalent hydroxy compd., a carbonyl compd. and an acidic substance and developing a color by heating, N-substituted indole is a compd. represented by the formula (wherein R1 is a halogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted aryl group or a substituted or nonsubstituted aralkyl group and R2-R4 are 11, a halogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted aryl group or a substituted or non-substituted aralkyl group). As a result, an image excellent in the reliability of water resistance, oil resistance or the like as compared with the image of a conventional thermal recording material is obtained and this image also has excellent quality with respect to the preservability such as humidity resistance, light fastness or heat resistance. |
