<p>PURPOSE:To provide a compact, light-weight and inexpensive pedal for a vehicle type deciding device which can measure the shaft weight, the number of shafts, the tread, etc., by means of a small number of parts. CONSTITUTION:A fare collection system of toll roads includes a vehicle separator consisting of the photoelectric switches which are placed opposite to each other centering on an entry road, a pedal 2 which has a pair of oblong recess holes and buried into a road surface 4 under the optical axis of the vehicle separator by crossing the surface 4, a shaft weight detecting parts 18a and 18b which has the oblong pressure plates in the upper end openings of the recess holes of the pedal 2 and consists of plural pressure-sensitive sensors placed symmetrically at the right and left parts of the lower faces of the pressure plates, a tread measuring means which measures the tread based on the ratio between the signal outputs received from the pressure-sensitive sensors of both parts 18a and 18b, and a shaft weight measuring means which measures the shaft weight by adding together the signal outputs of the sensors of parts 18a and 18b.</p> |
