Training device for horses

A training device comprises: a bit 13 having a fluid outlet 15 adapted for placement into the horse's mouth for releasing a supply of fluid for rewarding or deterring the animal; a reservoir 10 for holding a supply of fluid; a delivery pipe 11 connecting the reservoir to the bit; and means 20 for controlling the release of the fluid into the animal's mouth. A sugar or salt solution may be delivered directly into the animal's mouth to encourage or deter behavioural aspects of the horse when training. The fluid may be manually or electrically pumped into the bit.
