THICKNESS MEASURING DEVICE OF SLAG

The method for measuring the thickness of slag comprises the steps of digesting a floating castable made of the castable with the density of 3.0-5.5 g/cm3 at the upper portion of a ladle in which the slag is floated; measuring the whole length and radius of the floating castable; obtaining an equation for measuring the slag thickness by using the measured value, density of slag, density of atmosphere, density of the castable; measuring the height of the floating castable floated up to the slag and then applying the measured value to the equation to measure the thickness of the slag.
