PURPOSE:To obtain a thrombogenesis suppressing agent composed of a specific 1,2-dihydroxy-4-(2-hydroxyethyl)benzene derivative, having thrombogenesis suppressing action and high safety and useful as pharmaceuticals, foods, etc., for the prevention and treatment of thrombosis. CONSTITUTION:This thrombogenesis suppressing agent is composed of a compound of formula I [R1, R2 and R3 each is H or group of formula II (R7 and R8 each is H or a lower alkyl); R4 and R5 each is R7; R5 is H or OH; Rham is rhamnose residue; Ara is arabinose residue] or its salt, e.g. 1-{2-[3-(2- arabinosylrhamnosyl)-4-(3,4-dihydroxycinnamoyl)glycosyl]ethyl}-3,4- dihydrobenzene. The compound of formula I can be extracted e.g. from Stachys riederi (a kind of plant of the family Labiatae). The daily administration rate of the agent is preferably 1-1,000mg for adult. |
