REDUCING METHOD OF PREMIXED COMBUSTION IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, FUEL INJECTOR AND INJECTING METHOD OF FUEL

PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for reducing premixed burning and eliminating influence of exhaust emissions and noise in a fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing undesired premixed burning in an internal combustion engine includes lifting an injector needle 110 of a fuel injector 10 to a low-lift increment from a valve seat 36 and preventing lifting of the injector needle beyond the low-lift increment for a sufficient interval of time to inject a relatively small initial fuel charge from a nozzle 35. An atomized wide-angle spray plume with relatively low penetration due to the initial injection is produced. The interval terminates when lifting forces imposed on the needle overcome holding forces imposed on the needle by a stop plate 71. A subsequent injection operation includes lifting the needle to a higher lift position to inject a main fuel charge, which is injected as a relatively narrow jet having high penetration.
