PURPOSE: To provide a scheme for improving a device and a method for linearly converting RGB values of a color image into XYZ values without a large cost. CONSTITUTION: The image 100 is measured twice. The 1st measurement is taken by placing a filter 116 between the image 100 and a sensor 108 for measuring the image 100, and the other is taken without placing the filter. The device 102 can generate at least three output values at nearly the same time, by measuring the colors of respective elements 104 of the image 100.
