PURPOSE: To provide a method and a system for correcting color shift, which is generated in inappropriate image formation. CONSTITUTION: A color space converter 100 converts (r), (g) and (b) signals into YES color space expression signals in a luminance/color light intensity system. A luminance signal in the picture signal of YES is classified into plural luminance size bands in a classification unit 102. In averaging units 104 and 106, band average color light intensity signals <E>i <S>i are obtained and they are used for deciding necessary color shift. In an inter-band averaging unit 108, a band average <E>i <S>i signal is averaged with several adjacent band averages <E>j <S>j and inter-band average is obtained. The output is sent to a comparator 120 and a color shift value is decided. In a signal adder 122, the color shift value is added to the respective signals and a color shift correction signal in the fitted luminance magnitude band is outputted. Then, it is transmitted to output later. |
