PURPOSE:To enable smooth execution of an air conditioning operation even when the operation of a refrigerator is stopped at the time of a peak of power consumption and to facilitate leveling of a consumed power by a method wherein the amount of storage heat stored before the amount of power consumption reaches the peak is made larger than the one estimated from the amount of storage heat after this peak. CONSTITUTION:On the occasion of a heat storage operation utilizing a midnight power, a chiller (refrigerator) 2 is operated, and brine obtained in an evaporator 8 is made to flow as indicated by a solid-line arrow, so as to freeze 26 water 9 in a heat storage unit 3. At the time of a cooling operation, the water cooled down by the ice 26 in the heat storage unit 3 is sent into a heat exchanger 18 for air conditioning by operating a cold water pump 19 and thereby an indoor space is cooled. In such air conditioning equipment as stated above, a control device for stopping the operation of the chiller 2 for a prescribed time forcibly while an air conditioner 4 is operated, for a prescribed time when the amount of power consumption is at a peak, is provided, and the amount of storage heat stored before the stop of the operation of the chiller is set to be larger than the one estimated from the amount of storage heat after restarting of the operation of the chiller. Thereby the reliability of an air conditioning operation is enhanced.
