PURPOSE:To easily and speedily decide a format optimum for the printing of a data item in a data base by observing the display of a remaining digit number display part and sequentially adding printing data. CONSTITUTION:Data inputted by a printing parameter designation part 11 and a printing data item designation part 15 are respectively and stored in a printing parameter storage part 12 and a printing data item storage part 16. A printing possible digit number calculation part 13 calculates the number of digits which can be printed from the content of the printing parameter storage part 12 and stores it in a printing possible digit number storage part 14. A printing necessary digit number calculation part 17 calculates the number of digits required for printing the data item from the content of the printing data item storage part 16, and stores it in a printing necessary digit number storage part 18. A subtraction circuit 19 subtracts the content of the printing necessary digit number storage part 18 from the content of the printing possible digit number storage part 14 and displays it in the remaining digit number display part 20. Thus, the printing data item can sequentially be added while the display is observed, and therefore the optimum printing data item can esily and speedily be decided. |
