PURPOSE:To provide the observation device for the optical fiber which becomes neither large in size nor complex and is low in cost. CONSTITUTION:A 1st light source 6a which irradiates the optical fiber 1 to be connected by fusion splicing with a 1st observation light and a 2nd light source 6b which irradiates the optical fiber with a 2nd observation light in a different direction from the 1st light source 6a are arranged, and a lens 4 which images the optical fiber 1 on the basis of the 1st and 2nd observation lights transmitted through the optical fiber 1 is provided; and a lst mirror 2a which reflects the 1st observation light transmitted through the optical fiber 1, a 2nd mirror 2b which reflects the 2nd observation light transmitted through the optical fiber 1, an a movable third mirror 3 which reflects the respective reflected lights, reflected by the 1st and 2nd mirrors 2a and 2b, to the side of the lens 4 are provided between the optical fiber 1 and lens 4, and the incidence on the lens 4 is switched between the 1st and 2nd reflected lights by the moving of the mirror 3 and the optical fiber 1 is observed in two directions. |
