PURPOSE:To easily send a message to a portable communication equipment or the like. CONSTITUTION:A message sent to a portable communication equipment 109 is described on an input paper sheet and set to a facsimile equipment 100. The device receives the picture signal and stores the signal to a picture signal memory section 102. Then a character description area detection section 103 detects a character description area including a character description column from the picture signal and a character segmentation section 104 segments characters and a character recognition section 105 recognizes the segmented character string. Then the recognized character string is edited into a text processed by a radio transmission section 108 at a text edit section 106 and sent to the radio transmission section 108 via a line interface section 107 and then sent from the radio transmission section 108 to a portable communication equipment 109. Thus, message communication is simplified by using the facsimile equipment to send a message by the described characters. |
