PURPOSE:To easily input characters on a small-sized electronic equipment with a small number of keys. CONSTITUTION:This character input device is equipped with a display part 21 far a 1st character string which displays a determined character string to be inputted, a display part 22 for a 2nd character string which displays the inputted characters in specific order, a control means which controls the display characters on the display parts 21 and 22, 1st and 2nd operation means 31 and 32 for indicating the movement of the display characters on the display part 22 for the 2nd character string in one direction or opposite direction, and a 3rd control means 33 which indicates the determination of a character displayed at a specific position in the display part 22 for the 2nd character string as an input character. The character which is determined through the operation of the 3rd operation means 33 is displayed at the tail end of the character string displayed on the display part 21 for the 1st character string. |
