摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To judge the dot angle and dot interval of the image data of a processing object and to perform an efficient predictive coding processing even for a little data amount for less than one line by arranging plural observation picture elements within one line and measuring the intensity of the correlation of the respective observation picture elements and a notice picture element. CONSTITUTION:The image data 2 are inputted to an input terminals 1 first and the image data 2 are inputted to an identification part 3. In the identification part 3, the dot angle and the dot interval are discriminated from the inputted image data 2 even for the data amount of less than one line and dot angle and dot interval signals 4 are outputted. In a prediction part 5, the prediction of the notice picture element is performed from the image data 2 and the dot angle and dot interval signals 4 and a signal (predictive error signal 6) indicating whether or not a predicted value and the actual value of the notice picture element are concident is outputted. In a coding part 7, the predictive error signal 6 is run-length coded and a code 9 is outputted from an output terminal 8.</p>
