ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC CARRIER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve the charge maintainability of a carrier, to obtain an excellent image quality free from the density unevenness or staining of an image and particularly to produce the carrier at a high yield by melting the mixture resulted from previously mixing nucleus particles with a coating resin in drying state. CONSTITUTION:In the electrophotographic carrier obtained by coating the nucleus particle with the coating resin, the coating resin contains a copolymer containing isobutyl methacrylate or a homopolymer of isobutyl methacrylate and has 80-170 degree of the contact angle of the resin with water and the electrophotographic carrier is produced by coating the nucleus particle with the resin melted by heating the mixture of the nucleus particle and the coating resin containing the polymer mixed in drying state.
