The covering panel (2) is designed to fit inside the neck of a shirt or similar garment presented for sale so that it covers the inner, non-printed side of the fabric. The panel is basically semi-circular or apple-shaped, and has a rectangular tongue (3) projecting from its upper edge to fold over the back of the garment's collar. The rectangular tongue folds into four sections (31, 32, 33, 34) which cover the inner face of the collar, its upper edge and outer face, with the last section tucking under the collar at the back. At least one section can be used to carry the maker's name and/or garment size.
