<p>PURPOSE:To attain high speed processing by designating sequentially a monitor object line from a line having lots of cell arrival number for a preceding monitor period, monitoring a cell residual number and controlling the monitor based on the total number of arrived cells. CONSTITUTION:A section A counts and stores number of cells arrived within a measurement period for each line and measured data are read for each monitor period and a section B generates an arrival cell frequency histogram for each line. In this case, when the measured data are read, the data are read from a line having many arrived cell numbers based on the measurement data for each line read in the preceding monitor period and when the total cell number of the measurement data reaches a maximum arrival cell number Nmax of a section D to be allowed, the data reading is stopped. Since the method is practically sufficient by using the line receiving the arrival of cell for the preceding monitor period as an object, it is not required to monitor all lines and number of times of monitor is reduced. Thus, the histogram generating speed is improved.</p> |
