PURPOSE: To provide a photoelectric switching device which can give many kinds of different delays at a relatively small insertion loss suitable for controlling of a multi-bit beam. CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric switching device is constituted of a laser transmitter 11 equipped with a plurality of laser switches 14 which selectively supply optical output signals modulated in response to modulated signals front an input signal network 13 in accordance with control signals 22 front a control signal generator 18, a light receiver 12 equipped with a plurality of photodiode switches 16 which generate demodulated electrical output signals from the optical output signals from the transmitter, and a passive optical network 25 equipped with a photocoupler connected between the transmitter 11 and receiver 12 and a plurality of input and output light coupling means 20 and 30 having preset different light delay lengths so that many kinds of delays can be selected by controlling the switching of the switches 14 and 16 of the transmitter 11 and receiver 12.
