PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device having no irregularities in images caused by the change of fixing speed even when a distance between a transfer stage and a fixing stage is not longer than the length of a recording material by preventing oil from adhering to the recording material. CONSTITUTION:The fixing speed and the speed of a transfer drum are set to be switchable to three kinds of speeds, that is, Vp equal to the image forming speed of a photoreceptor drum, Vp' lower than the Vp, and Vp'' lower than Vp', and the speed is set to the Vp in the case of plain paper, the Vp' in the case of thick paper and the Vp'' in the case of an OHP sheet. The timing for switching over the speed of the transfer drum to the Vp' or the Vp'' is set to the time just after finishing transfer operation. Even in the case of the plain paper, the speed is lowered to the Vp' for the second side of the paper at the time of multicolor double-sided image forming. Furthermore, the oil removing processing of the transfer drum is executed after finishing the transfer on the second side of the paper at the time of double-sided image forming for any recording material. |
