PURPOSE:To provide the image processing method and its device not requiring the provision of an exclusive processing section for each applied coding system when plural coding systems are applied to the processing method. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 109 sets a processing program corresponding to an applied coding system to an instruction memory 108 sequentially. A DSP 104 applies coding sequentially to image data stored in a picture memory 102 by the processing program of the different coding system set in the instruction memory 108 and stores the data to a coding memory 105.
