PURPOSE:To add a function for generating music or sounds by receiving alarm control information, which is transmitted while being added to a calling signal together with message data, and extracting a sound information signal from a storage means based on this received information. CONSTITUTION:A pager 1 detects the termination of the calling signal and discriminates whether music number designation data are added in the message data of received data to be continuously inputted or not. When the music number designation data are added, a CPU 6 reads melody data, to which a music number is designated, from a music number correspondence table inside a melody bank 9 and outputs those melody data to an A/D and D/A conversion part 12, and melody play is started by outputting a converted melody signal to an amplifier part 14. Together with this melody play, the CPU 6 reads out the temporarily stored melody data, converts those data into character data and displays them on a display part 11. Thus, the intension or feeling of the transmission side not to be sufficiently transmitted only by the message data can be exactly and clearly transmitted to the reception side. |
