The procedure consists of recognising a code held in a logical cell forming part of the object, using a key which is known only to the owner of the object. The cell is contained in an inviolable box (30) which contains an EPROM and a RAM, the latter being enclosed in a winding of conductor wires embedded in polyester resin which act as a feed for an external and remote power source. The code contained in the cell can be revealed only by the owner of the code key, i.e. the owner of the object, and any attempt to open the box will result in a destruction of the code.
