PURPOSE:To provide the intersection waveguide which reduces the loss at an intersection part and leak light to other waveguides. CONSTITUTION:The intersection waveguide is equipped with a free propagation area provided on a substrate which has a two-dimensional slab film, 1st waveguides 1a-4a which are connected to one side of the free propagation area, 2nd waveguides 1b-4b which are connected to the other side of the free propagation area, and plural curved surface mirrors 1m-4m which are formed in the free propagation area so as to optically couple the 1st waveguides la-4a and 2nd waveguides 1b-4b; and the optical path of at least one of the lst waveguides 4a-4a and the optical path of at least one of the 2nd waveguides 1b-4b cross each other and the order of the array of the 1st waveguides 1a-4a and the order of the array of the 2nd waveguides 1b-4b are different from each other. |
