PURPOSE:To display character data along curve figure data consisting of an array of points by deriving positions along the curve data and composing the character data based on the derived position. CONSTITUTION:An optional curve 16a is generated and displayed by conventional technology of figure editing by using a pointing device. Then a found circumscribed rectangle 17a is displayed and characters are inputted in the circumscribed rectangle 17a by the conventional character editing technology. Then the characters are displayed along the curve by using computed expanded character display attributes. When the expanded characters are reedited, it is judged whether or not a place indicated with the pointing device is included in the circumscribed rectangle 17a of the curve 16a and when it is judged that the place is included in the circumscribed rectangle 17a, a character editing picture is displayed, so that the character string is edited by the conventional character editing technology. Then expanded character display attributes are generated for the curve 16a to display the characters. |
