<p>PURPOSE: To make various displays through the combination of selectively deformed optical paths by combining a Schlieren optical device with at least two sets of variable mirror devices. CONSTITUTION: Of the light emitted front a light source 101, the part made incident to the light reflecting section of a Schlieren optical device 106 is made incident to a variable mirror device 109 after reflection. The part transmitted through the light transmitting section of the optical device 106 is made incident to another variable mirror device 117. When the mirror cells of the mirror device 109 are deformed, the reflected light reaches a display screen through the light transmitting section of the optical device 106 and an optical path 113. When the mirror cells of the mirror device 117 are deformed, the reflected light reaches the display screen through the optical path 113 after the light is reflected by the light reflecting section of the optical device 106. When an electronic display device constituted in such a way is used, the light having no definite utilization purpose and transmitted through the optical device 106 can be utilized effectively.</p> |
