A filter apparatus having a filter bag subassembly (14) for collecting contaminating material is disclosed. The filter bag subassembly (14) includes five diametrically and axiallyspaced bags (58, 98, 100, 102, 104) and an integral collar (60). The five spaced bags (58, 98, 100, 102, 104) form five spaced chambers (130, 132, 134, 136, 138) within cavity (20) and the integral collar (60) has a stepped shape forming five cylinder support portions (62, 90, 92, 94, 96) for the five spaced bags (58, 98, 100, 102, 104).
