Method for introducing labels into label supply device

The method uses a label bar (6) of loosely adjoining labels is placed in a magazine (1) which is contoured to match the shape of the labels. The magazine is brought into a straight line extension of the label box of the label supply machine so that the label bar (6) can be pushed directly out of the magazine (1) into the box of the supply machine. After the label bar has been inserted the magazine can be closed by one or more releasable closure mechanisms (14) and used as a reusable transport container for the label bar. The specially shaped magazine has an opening (7) in an end side through which the label bar is removed.
