The invention relates to an enhanced process for integrating production of agro-fibres in field plant energy production. The process involves separating the cellulose fibres from lignin, comprising (a) heating a raw material containing cellulose fibres and a lignin-dissolving carboxylic acid mixture in a cellulose digester in order to provide a digestion mixture containing lignin carboxylic acid solution and solid cellulosic fibre material and (c) seprating the lignin carboxylic acid solution from the solid cellulosic fibre material, the lignin-dissolving carboxylic acid mixture being provided by (a1) feeding pyrolytic raw material into a pyrolyzer disposed in connection with the cellulose digester, (a2) heating the pyrolytic raw material in the pyrolyzer to pyrolyze it into liquid fuel, lignin-dissolving carboxylic acid mixture and non-volatile pyrolytic product and (a3) separating the lignin-dissolving carboxylic acid mixture from the liquid fuel and the non-volatile pyrolytic product.
