Method of wrapping blocks of insulating material

A sufficient length of web (2) of wrapping material such as paper is drawn from a supply whereby the first end is guided with sliding action and folded up against the back of the block (1) whilst the second end during its downward movement along the back of the block is separated from the supply and stuck to the upwardly folded first end. The block is clamped whilst the two web ends are connected together at the back. The wrapping machine includes a flap (48) forming a support for the lower part of the web which is drawn by the forward movement of the block. This flap can be moved up behind the block to bring the lower end of the web up sufficiently high against the back of the block for overlapping.
