<p>An apparatus for interpolating an image comprises an image receiving/displaying system (70) which receives image data converted into image signals by a CCD camera (40) and transmitted through a communication network (60), and an image monitor (100) for displaying the image. The image receiving/displaying system (70) includes an image interpolation circuit (77) having a circuit (83) for calculating the difference in luminance, and a circuit (84) for interpolating luminance. In the circuit (83), the difference in luminance between two consecutive image data among the image data sequentially received is calculated. Also, in the circuit (84), the image data are equally divided in accordance with the results of calculation by the circuit (83). A plurality of the interpolated images created by the image interpolation circuit (77) are inserted between the two consecutive images. On the image monitor (100), the interpolated image whose gradient is gradually varied is displayed one after another in a given order.</p> |
