The child seat for a road vehicle has two shoulder straps adjustable as to height for the child to be secured. On the front side of the backrest (9) of the child seat is a guide fixture (15) fixable at least at two different heights for the shoulder straps (11,13). The shoulder strap or a strap (19) connected to them are guided through a recess in the backrest from the rear side to the front side, from the recess as far as the guide fixture, through which they pass to the child. The guide fixture has a guide device for lateral fixture of the shoulder straps. The guide fixture is formed by a beam, the ends of which are suspendable in upwardly open accommodations on the front side of the backrest. |
