The sheet metal elements (10,20,30) are trough-shaped with holders at front sides. At one long side, in assembled position, it has a horizontal insert rabbet retaining an insert flange of an adjacent ceiling element of identical shape. The profile ceiling elements, in their fitted state, are located at a distance (A) to each other to form gaps. The depth of each insert rabbet has a depth greater than the gap, measured from the free end of the flange to be inserted into the rabbet.
