<p>The present invention relates to non-pathogenic strains of HIV-1 and to components, parts, fragments and derivatives thereof and to genetic sequences derived therefrom and their use in the development of diagnostic and therapeutic compositions for the treatment and prophylaxis of AIDS and AIDS-related disorders. The present invention also relates to a method for attenuating pathogenic strains of HIV-1 by mutagenizing particular regions of the HIV-1 genome.</p> |
