The apparatus having a channel tuning part for tuning a channel under control of a microcomputer; an IF signal AGC amplifier for regulating a gain of the tuned IF signal in the channel tuning part; an IF signal level detecter for detecting an level of IF signal of the IF signal AGC amplifier, and applying the detected level to the IF signal AGC amplifier; a LED driver for detecting an AGC voltage of the level of the IF signal, and then driving the LED part; and a FM detecter for detecting the IF signal of the IF signal AGC amplifier, and then applying the signal to an audio/video signal processing part. The apparatus further comprises a video signal detecting unit for detecting the presence/absence for an output of a video signal processed in the audio/video signal processing part, and providing a video signal discriminating signal to the microcomputer; and a channel display unit for displaying a channel number on a TV by means of a letter control signal of the microcomputer.
