This invention relates to a turn table apparatus of a composite machine tool which is directed to prevent the drop of indexing accuracy at the time of positioning of a workpiece and at the time of its clamping and the discrepancy of indexing accuracy between positioning and clamping. The turn table apparatus is equipped separately with a driving system of a turn table (3) and a driving system of an indexing mechanism (20), and indexing is conducted by rotating the turn table by the driving system of the indexing mechanism (20), and indexing is conducted by rotating the turn table by the driving system of the indexing mechanism (20) while the output torque of the turn table driving system is limited.
