In a control valve for a hydraulic shifting clutch in a hydraulic control device for an automatic change-speed gearbox for motor vehicles, a pressure conduit (7) carrying the controlled line pressure of the control device is connected via two connecting conduits (8, 9) having a flow restrictor (10) and an orifice (11), respectively, to the valve chamber (12) together with the onward-leading control pressure conduit (13) of the shifting clutch. In the installation position of the valve, only the connecting conduit (8) having the orifice (11) is shut off from the valve chamber (12) - by a control collar (4) of the spool - and it is only by the restrictor pressure that it can be connected through to the control pressure conduit (13) of the shifting clutch counter to the force of a control spring.
