An information processing apparatus for transmitting information among a plurality of nodes comprises a plurality of nodes which are connected by a common transmission line, an arbiter for giving a use permission of the common transmission line on the basis of a use request of the common transmission line from the node, an information transmitter which connects the arbiter and each of the nodes and is used to transmit the use request, and a data transmission state detector for detecting the data transmission state of the data to be transmitted on the common transmission line and for notifying the detected data transmission state to the arbiter. The data transmission state detector detects the data transmission state by discriminating an identifier which is added to the data to be transmitted on the common transmission line and indicates the end of the data or an identifier indicating that the data transmission is finished after the elapse of a predetermined time. When the use requests are overlapped on the common transmission line, the arbiter gives the use permission of the common transmission line on the basis of the detected data transmission state.
