Process which, starting from a positive or negative of the size of the original photograph, comprises: anodizing the plate made from metal, preferably aluminium, and subsequent colouring of said plate, which is impregnated with a photosensitive emulsion; and press-contact of the positive or negative of the original with the plate is carried out and the emulsion is exposed to actinic light, developing being carried out, and by means of the metal being attacked by salts or acids the areas not protected by the emulsion lose their colour, and then the final stage involves a stripping operation and an operation for sealing or protecting the microetching. <IMAGE>
