PURPOSE: To enable a flat roadbed to be excavated on a base rock in mine by mounting hydraulic power unit and impact unit on a chassis on an endless track, and excavating a flat excavated face by the agency of impact of a hammer. CONSTITUTION: The profiler 10 works to cylindrically excavate a hole having a depth of a repeating collar 100 so that these holes are linked to form an excavated face 102, and the hammer also excavate a hole in shifted relation only for the diameter. Next, the profiler 10 advances only for the diameter of a bit 60 to start excavating a hole again, and in the case of an up-grade, levers 22, 24 are extended, and the lever 22 projects in its front part, and the rear lever 24 extends in only a part thereof. Subsequently in the case of down- grade, the levers 22, 24 project, and a stinger 26 extends until it comes against the ceiling of an adit 96. The profiler 10 automatically repeats operation in accordance with the grade so as to automatically control operation and the depth of a hole, and further the transducer of a mast sends a signal of the angle and the depth of the hole to a hydraulic servo-system for control.
