PURPOSE:To provide a hydraulic elevator in which a safer and more inexpensive plunger braking device requiring less installation space is provided and a car cage is prevented from sinking/floating in getting on/off of passengers or in loading/unloading of loads. CONSTITUTION:A brake device 31 fixing a plunger 4 is arranged in the upper part of a cylinder. The brake device 31 is provided with a brake lining 5 for fixing the plunger 4, a motor 1 for driving, a reduction gear 2, a lever 6 provided with nuts 8, 9, a driving shaft 10, and an elastic member 7 such as a spring releasing the lining 5. In no brake operation command from a controller, in a blackout, or in an emergency stop, the brake device 31 is operated so as to always release braking force, while the brake device 31 fixes the plunger 4 only when a door is opened while a car cage is stopped. |
