<p>PURPOSE: To improve the general performance of a club without disturbing a player's condition, by extending and connecting in the order of the upper end with a larger diameter, a long and rigid part, further, a central part having a prescribed length and a prescribed constitution, and still further, the lower end part for receiving a head. CONSTITUTION: The club shaft has a tubular profile having a large diameter, an upper part 2 having a grip 5, the central part 3, and a lower part 4 which receives a head 6, to be constituted such that the flexural rigidly varies according to the length. The upper part 2 is set to have a length L1 which is at least as long as 100 mm, preferably 200 mm and a flexural rigidity of 50N.m<2> . The central part 3 is constituted of a soft region 30 whose length d is 100 to 300 mm and whose flexural rigidity is 20 to 40N.m<2> (where L1+d<=500 mm), and the remaining region 31 having a flexural rigidity of 50N.m<2> or more in the neighborhood of the soft region 31 and gradually decreasing toward the lower end part 4, both regions forming a length L2. The length L3 of the lower end part 4 is set at 200 to 300 mm.</p> |
