PURPOSE:To easily attach a drop-free bumper cap to an automobile door handle. CONSTITUTION:An automobile door handle device has an escutcheon 1 secured to a door panel; a handle 2 rotatably attached to the escutcheon 1 by a shaft and operationally connected to a door lock device; and a spring that elastically presses the handle 2 against the escutcheon 1. A protrusion 7 of T-cross secition comprising a shaft portion 7a and a flange portion 7b greater in width than the shaft portion 7a is formed on one side of the handle 2 that is opposite to the escutcheon 1, and a bumper cap 8 of C-cross section made of rubber and fitted around the protrusion 7 is made to abut to the escutcheon 1. Since the bumper cap 8 is attached to the protrusion 7 formed in the handle 2, a very easy attaching operation is ensured and no impact force is applied to the bumper cap 8 in a direction in which it could fall off. Therefore, the bumper cap 8 is in no danger of falling off. |
