<p>PURPOSE:To provide a coke preparation method which enables a plurality of waste plastics to be processed and, at the same time, a thermal decomposition gas and a carbonization gas to be separately collected and effectively utilized, by charging waste plastics, which have been subjected to thermal decomposition. together with coal for coke making, into a coke oven to prepare coke. CONSTITUTION:The drawing shows a flow chart for the method of the invention. Waste plastics are chopped and subjected to thermal decomposition in a heating oven. The thermal decomposition temperature is preferably 500 to 800 deg.C. The oven may be any of a rotary kiln, a vessel for a batch process, etc. The thermal decomposition produces hydrocarbons, a gas oil, H2, etc., which can be collected and effectively utilized, and causes polyvinyl chloride to be dechlorinated. The heat-treated waste plastics may be optionally ground, sieved and chopped into small pieces and, together with coal for coke making, is charged into a cake oven, where carbonization is carried out by a conventional method. High- strength cake can be prepared when the amount of the waste plastics after thermal decomposition is 1 to 20wt.%, preferably 5 to 10wt.%, based on the coal for coke making. This method enables a large amount of a plurality of waste plastics to be processed.</p> |
