PURPOSE:To obtain an unsaturated polyester resin composition, comprising an unsaturat ed polyester, a low shrinkage agent containing a saturated polyester, an ethylenic type unsaturated monomer, a filler and a specific surfactant, excellent in surface smoothness and capable of providing a formed product low in pinholes. CONSTITUTION:This composition is obtained by blending (A) an unsaturated polyester with (B) a low shrinkage agent containing a saturated polyester, (C) an ethylenic unsaturated monomer (e.g. styrene), (D) a filler (preferably having <=30mum average particle diameter) and further (E) an ethereal nonionic surfactant (e.g. a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether). Furthermore, calcium carbonate is preferred in aspects of cost and filling properties in a large amount. The respective components are preferably blended so as to provide the following amounts: The component (A) is in an amount of 1.5-5 times based on the weight of the component (B) and the ratio of the components (A):(C) is (20-80)wt.%:(80-20)wt.%. The amount of the component (D) is 20-70wt.% based on the total amount of the composition and the that of the component (E) is 0.1-5wt.% based on the total weight of the components (A) to (D). |
